Some of the best Racing on the Australian calendar takes place in February and March during the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival. The Blue Diamond Stakes is the big 2 year old race held at Caulfield racecourse. The Blue Diamond is the precurser to the Golden Slipper in Sydney. The Oakleigh Plate and Futurity Stakes are also on the same day as the Blue Diamond making it a Super Saturday at Caulfield racecourse. Super Saturday at Flemington racecourse will see the legendary sprint Newmarket Handicap and middle distance Australian Cup run.
