Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival 2019
The Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival 2019 really kicks into action on the first weekend of October at Flemington racecourse, just after the AFL Grand Final and officially ends at Sandown in the middle of November. In between this there are meetings at Caulfield including the Group 1 Caulfield Cup and Moonee Valley with the richest WFA weight for age race in the world the Group 1 WS Cox Plate and of course the world famous 3200m Melbourne Cup.
Melbourne Racing Tips – Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival
The Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is under siege with the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival launching an all out assault. The two leviathans are waging a “turf war” for the spotlight and the best talent around the country.
Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival – $100 million in prize money
This has led to the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnivaloffering prizemoney and bonuses over $100 million dollars for the first time in history. Along with significant stake money increases the VRC have also implemented a “Star Of The Saddle” bonus that would see a jockey pocket an extra $50-$100,000 if they are the leading rider on a feature race day. It’s an intelligent ploy as in truth. Jockeys are the “marketable rock stars” of the racing game and punters tend to let their money flow where the best jockeys are riding. The 2019 Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is going to be like none we have ever.
