Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival 2019

Melbourne Racing tips features the All Star Mile, the richest race in the world over 1600m and our expert Melbourne Racing tips will focus on this new event on Saturday June 16 for our All Star Mile tips as part of the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival.

Melbourne Racing tips – All Star Mile

This is Victorias attempt to gain relevance back in the Racing landscape. Sydney has hijacked Melbourne’s dominance on the racing scene when they launched The Everest, an amazingly successful concept that in a very short space of time has taken a lot of media focus away from the Melbourne Racing Carnival’s and very quickly turned the tables of public interest toward Sydney Racing.

The VRC were not going to sit on their hands and quietly roll over so this year they have launched the Melbourne Racing tips All Star Mile to run in the middle of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival and going head to head with the Coolmore Classic.

How is the All Star Mile field selected?

In an attempt to even further capture the interest of the nation the field is made up in a majority of “publicly voted” horses. This is the only race in the world where the public have a say as to the composition of the final race. The field is a field of 14 runners with 10 runners “voted in” by the public vote and the final 4 positions allocated by the VRC handicapping department in a “wildcard format “

The Public can Win $250,000!

In a bid to make this even more “the peoples race” during the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival, the VRC decided to set aside $500,000 in prize money to be paid out to the public. This is done via a random draw from people out of the public voters to be “owner ambassadors” meaning that these randomly drawn people are allocated as “owners” for the day the payout works in the following way
1st $250,000, 2nd $80,000,3rd $40,000, 4th $25,000, 5th $15,000, 6th to 14th $10,000 each

The first Melbourne Racing tips All Star Mile is being run at Flemington racecourse on Saturday March 16 but this race is going to be rotated annually between the 3 major Melbourne Racing city tracks of Flemington, Caulfield and Moonee Valley.
