Epsom Handicap 2017Get Sydney Racing Tips
The 2017 Epsom Handicap is one of the highlights, if not the highlight of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival. It is a Group l race carrying total prize money of $1 million and is held at the famous Randwick Racecourse. The Epsom is run over 1600m or the old one mile. The Epsom has a maximum field of 20 horses plus emergencies and is a handicap race as opposed to a weight for age race.
Lead up races to watch out for as indicators for the Epsom are the George Main Stakes, the Chelmsford Stakes, The Tramway Stakes and the Warwick Stakes.
The 2017 Epsom Handicap will be run on Saturday the 30th of September, the day of the AFL Grand Final. It is also billed as Super Saturday at Randwick Racecourse as it hosts the Group 1 Metropolitan and the Group 1 Flight Stakes.
The Epsom Handicap name at Randwick Racecourse was named from the Epsom Downs Racecourse in England, United Kingdom.
Gai Waterhouse has enjoyed great success in the Epsom Handicap with seven winners, the most recent being Fat Al in 2012.

The Epsom Handicap has been won by some brilliant horses and the list includes Hauraki in 2016, Winx in 2015 and Super Impose 1990-91 and Boban 2013.
Winx of course will not run in the Epsom because as it is a handicap she will be weighted well out of it. The market for the 2017 Epsom Handicap is:
