Flemington Racecourse has become iconic not just for it’s Racing and the brilliant horses that compete but for Australian fashion.
The Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is now a significant component of the fashion industry’s year. This is primarily headline by the Fashion on the Field competition where females and males alike dress up and strut their stuff on the catwalk with significant profile, fame and prizemoney attached to those that are deemed to be fashionistas.
Whilst right throughout Melbourne Cup Carnival week fashion is at the forefront, it is Melbourne Cup Day that takes top mantle in the fashion stakes. However, it is now closely followed by VRC Oaks Day which now has the mantle as Ladies Day.
