A look at the AFL Finals…
Adelaide now looks a near certainty to finish top. GWS, Richmond and Geelong will fight out 2-4 and the double chance. That leaves
seven teams fighting for four spots to play off in the top eight in the race for the AFL premiership 2017.
Port, Sydney, Bulldogs, Essendon, St Kilda, West Coast and Melbourne all remain in the race with 44-40 points. Percentage is likely to play a big role, so Port should be ok. Sydney is really a top four side but there poor start makes them a top six so they will be ok. We think the Bulldogs can get through which leaves a toss of the coin for the other spot.

Round 20 winners….Adelaide, Richmond, Sydney, GWS, Bulldogs, St Kilda

Adelaide were quite spectacular in the wet in destroying Port and in the process securing top spot. They had 81 inside 50 entries, which is just incredible. They are now $3.25 to win the flag. They may want to win this one as we hear Lever and McGovern are on their way and the year after Charlie Cameron is off.

Richmond has shortened from $13 to $7 in AFL betting to win the flag. They continue to impress and are the smokey. GWS finally gots it act together in Canberra with an impressive win over Melbourne. They had 112 goals out of the side and have key forwards to come back into the side. They have talent but the clock is ticking. Sydney smashed Geelong and are surely a chance to make the AFL Grand Final. They have talent and experience and if they have the hunger and desire from last years beating that will be a powerful emotion. St Kilda looked gone in Q4 v West Coast but fought back to win and it was full of merit given the loss last week v Port. Bulldogs have now won four in a row but made hard work of it v Brisbane and will need to be at their best to maintain this win streak.

And the losers…Port, West Coast, Melbourne, Geelong…oh did we mention Port!
Port Adelaide has beaten one team in the top eight thus far in 2017. They are pretenders and are not a top four side. 81 inside 50s against is just a terrible stat. They will make the 8, may even win a final but that will be it. Geelong showed its true colours without Dangerfield, they have lost Selwood for three weeks and its key forward Hawkins has now been suspended for the third time this year. Go figure the Cats!

Melbourne had a poor loss v GWS and looked tired. They have talent but are young and perhaps doomed to miss finals as sides like St Kilda and Essendon seem to have legs. West Coast are now officially the biggest tank team in the AFL, losing another game in Melbourne after looking to have the game done.

Big Round 21 coming up, looking forward to it.
