AFL Tips 2018 Round 5

AFL tips and betting Round 5 and Anzac Day to go

Welcome to our weekend wrap of AFL tips and betting Round 5 and with two games for AFL Round 5 tips still to come we thought we would preview again the Anzac Day Eve and Anzac Day games and review the AFL Round 5 Tips games. We have the Melbourne +14.5 and win $2.80 bet to come (Melbourne have squeezed into +13.5) and Essendon +3.5 (now +2.5) in our AFL tips and betting still to come for AFL Round 5.

 Melbourne v Richmond – Tuesday 24 April

Richmond had a training run last weekend with a 110-17 win over Brisbane and the week prior a strong win over Hawthorn. Melbourne were very disappointing last week v Hawthorn and have been ridiculed as a result from its fans and media. Richmond won this game last year 88-75 but prior that Melbourne had won last three. Generally the games between these tow have been tight and we expect the same here just as we expect a Melbourne performance bounce off last weeks loss and coupled with Richmonds double peak performance line cover. We get the start +14.5 Melbourne.
Bet – 2 unit strong bet Melbourne +14.5 and .5 unit win $2.80

Essendon v Collingwood – Anzac Day

What a fantastic day this is and just a shame only two sides get to experience the brilliance of this historic day. The Anzac Day games are 13-9-1 head to head Collingwoods way. Essendon has won the last two. The recent games tend to be very high scoring, last three games ave nearly 200 points per game. Essendon back in the winners circle last week at Etihad over Port and lets see how the Bombers handle the G with their game style. Collingwood has won last two and is on a strong three game peak performance cover including a massive win last week in Adelaide over the Crows. Collingwood’s big win last week and three game peak performance run makes Essendon a bet here.
Bet – 1 unit Essendon +3.5 and .25 unit win $2.20

Carlton a 3 unit Best Bet and 10 points off the win

Of the games played we had our first 3 unit Best Bet for the AFL tips and betting season and landed a win with Carlton covering a +27.5 line in a 69-79 point loss to West Coast and were storming home with a wet sail and the game goes slightly longer and our $5.10 looks strong. That’s twice in the last fortnight our AFL tips and betting longshot selections and we are confident of landing one soon. Carlton sit bottom of the table and whilst it was an improved effort they rank in the AFL #16 points for and #2 against and come up against the Bulldogs in AFL tips Round 6 whilst West Coast sitting happily on the top of the AFL table after a second win in Melbourne this season head to the blockbuster Derby in the West for AFL tips Round 6.

Adelaide a massive win…problems at the Swans!

Now that was some win for the Crows. Slammed by all and sundry the week prior (yes us included!) they came out with a massive performance and statement against a very disappointing Swans. Walker and Jenkins kick 7 of the Crows 12 goals and Buddy returns just the 1 showing once again if its No Buddy Showtime its likely no Swans. Strangely that’s two losses for the Swans in AFL 2018 at the SCG and the other game they fell in against the lowly ranked Dogs. This all spells problems for Sydney as they prepare for the away game v Geelong in AFL tips Round 6 whilst Adelaide has Gold Coast at home.

St Kilda and GWS a draw

These two played out a draw in AFL tips and betting. Hard to take a read on the game, a little like the Carlton v West Coast game whilst an argument can be made for a Saints improvement they still cannot score and rank #15 points for and #4 points against. GWS will be happy to get away with a draw as they head for a home game v Brisbane in AFL tips Round 6 whilst Saints from up to Hawthorn.

North the surprise packet of AFL 2018

North were widely tipped as a bottom 4 if not bottom side for AFL tips and betting 2018 but has surprised everyone with a strong start to the AFL season and come off a big 28 point win over the Hawks. It was 11.9 to 3.0, yes 20 scoring shots to 3 at half time and the game was cooked. A Hawks rally in the second half masked the poor result and injuries are set to hurt the Hawks who will be looking for a bounce in AFL tips Round 6 v the Saints whilst North comes up v Port on a two loss streak.

Freo free wheeling at home

Fremantle look like they love the new home stadium as they kicked over 100 points for the three home games in a AFL tips and betting win 108-54 against the hapless Dogs. Whilst Fremantle only rank mid table points for, it is a far cry from recent times but the hurdle is too do it away from home. Bulldogs just look light years from improvement and the AFL 2016 premiership a distant memory. Fremantle now fronts up to West Coast in AFL tips Round 6 for the Derby whilst the Dogs will look for a win over Carlton in an AFL Friday night blockbuster.

No Ryder, No Port Adelaide

We have been firm that Ryder is Ports most important player and so we saw it again on Saturday nights AFL game v Geelong. Port were an AFL tips and betting -11.5 play and really rarely looked like it against an impressive Geelong. Port Adelaide’s goal sources has completely dried up as whilst they may win clearances they are not clean with Ryder’s exquisite taps and they have to throw Dixon in the ruck, Watts gets too far up the ground and they have nothing to kick to. At the moment the pre-season recruiting raid looks hapless with no of these players starring and Lindsay Thomas now likely out for at least 4 games. The inside 50s were about equal but Port scored 50 points for the game with shocking efficiency. Geelong is travelling nicely with Gazza to come back in along with a number of others and in AFL Round 6 tips has a massive game v Sydney whilst Port fronts up to North away.

The AFL Q-Clash

Brisbane and Gold Coast played out a tight 71-76 game at the Gabba with the Suns getting home and getting off to a positive 3-2 start to the AFL tips and betting 2018 season. Brisbane sit equal bottom of the AFL table with a 0-5 record but have lost two games under a goal but rank 17 points for and 3 points against in a worrying sign. The frequent flyer points are on the go again for the Suns in AFL Round 6 tips as they head to Adelaide whilst Brisbane heads to GWS.

Back on board Thursday as we review the big Anzac Day games and our 2 AFL tips and preview AFL Round 6 tips
